Terra Nova students at Seahorse Key went seining this afternoon. Seining is using a long weighted bottom net in shallow water to collect aquatic organisms. Aka using a net to catch water creatures. This trip has been a top tier experience for students to learn and explore coastal marine habitats at various US Fish and Wildlife locations. We had a visitor join us yesterday from Trout Unlimited. Evan is an avid outdoorsman, environmental educator, Owner & Head Guide for Fishing For All LLC! He went through fish lure science and the importance of color, depth, and weather.
