While exploring the history and traditions of Día de los Muertos, students decorated their own calaveras de azúcar (sugar skulls), creating a meaningful opportunity for cultural connection and celebration.

Igniting big dreams and discovering what’s next!
Terra Nova 10th-grade students participated in Ridgewater College’s annual IGNITE Your Future event!
Instead of just reading about career paths, they jumped right into the action. Students participated in hands-on technical trade demos, explored healthcare fields, and even tested their professional skills with local employers.
It was an incredible day of being Out of the Classroom, Into the World™! 🌍

Spirit Week is happening at Terra Nova October 26-29! Students are welcome to dress up and participate as a way to showcase their school pride!

From robotics to textiles and visual arts, our students are diving headfirst into their first project cycle of the year—and the progress is amazing! They'll have the opportunity to exhibit their final products to our school community at the end of the month- stay tuned!

How it ended...vs how it started! 🌲🔥 Check out how students transformed this corner of our school forest!

If your family celebrates Halloween, come join the fun on Thursday, October 22, from 4–6 PM!
Terra Nova will have a booth, and we’d love for students and families to stop by, say hi, or help pass out candy to the little ones! Students can dress up, hand out candy, spread some Halloween cheer, and grab a few treats of their own.
Whether you volunteer at our booth or come trick-or-treat with your family, we hope to see you there!
- Downtown Monticello, West Bridge Park & East Broadway
- Rain or shine!
- Check out the HERE for more event details!

October is College Knowledge Month! 🗓️
Terra Nova high school students took a step in taking charge of their futures by exploring their options at the National College Fair!
At Terra Nova, we believe every student is college material and are proud to participate in Minnesota’s Direct Admissions program. Through this program, students learn early in their senior year which of the 50+ participating Minnesota colleges and universities they qualify for, allowing them to approach the application process with confidence. Learn more on the Direct Admissions Minnesota webpage.

School circles are a Terra Nova tradition that allows our community to come together to celebrate, reflect, stay connected. They give every student a voice, building a culture of empathy, belonging, and shared purpose that carries far beyond the classroom.

Out of the Classroom… to the beach! Students had a full day of fun at Schroeder Park roasting hot dogs, catching fish, and soaking up the sun. We look forward to keeping this amazing tradition alive every fall!

Our friends at the Buffalo Area Community Center would like to invite you to the Friday Music Jam today and each 3rd Friday of the month! Register at rec.us/buffalo

Take a look back at week one where students were already Out of the Classroom, Into the World™ with an afternoon of fun at Griffing Park and Lake Pulaski!

How many sticky notes can you put on your advisor in 30 seconds?! Results, in no particular order, at the end!

A huge thank you to all the incredible staff who make our community thrive—especially our dedicated advisors, office staff, assistants, bus drivers, support staff, and our wonderful school parents! Your hard work shapes the future every single day.
📌 Quick Reminder: School is closed tomorrow, Monday, September 7th, in honor of the holiday. We look forward to seeing all of our students back in class and ready to learn on Tuesday, September 8th!
We hope everyone enjoys a safe, relaxing, and well-deserved long weekend!
